Matt Electric honoured with Work Safe Award

Friday, 6 November 2009

Each year in Queensland around 100 people are killed in work-related accidents and injuries, and almost 30,000 families are directly affected by serious workplace incidents. The total cost to the community is greater than $4.7 billion annually.

According to ambulance paramedics, more workplace burns are caused by electrical incidents than any other trade. This is why safety is of paramount importance to Matt Electric.

The prevention of serious workplace accidents on construction sites, particularly when doing elevated or vertical work, is a concern in the electrical sector. Matt Electric has implemented strenuous Electrical & Communications Association (ECA) approved training, personal protection equipment regulations, and safety inspections on its job sites to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
