As a part of Work Safe Australia Week, Matt Electric won a prominent Queensland safety award for its Work Place Health and Safety Management System.
The award recognises best workplace health and safety practices in small business across Queensland. The program is run by the Queensland Government and the awards showcase the importance of improving health and safety education in Queensland. The awards help share innovative health and safety solutions and ideas that have practical application in workplaces.
Matt Electric joined the likes of construction industry giants Bovis Lend Lease, Leighton Contractors and BHP Billiton as finalists across a range of categories in the Safety Awards.
This is the second year in a row that Matt Electric has received a Safety Management award. Matt Electric’s workplace accident rate reduced by in excess of 90% and zero days have been lost to workplace accidents in 2008/2009.This is an impressive accomplishment for an electrical contractor. The company is recognised within the construction industry for its proactive approach to safety.
